Pre-facelift Tesla S 2013-16 only has a 6mm pressure hose system. So only 6mm is suitable. Most of these models have a permanently mounted inflation valve on the car for topping up the tank. So the area of use for this T-piece is mostly limited to emergency filling of the air struts themselves. It can be a good way to get air in them, e.g. if the compressor is disabled, the struts have fallen down and you need to move/use the car. The easiest way is likely to attach the pressure hoses to the T-piece at the valve block. An external compressor is then connected directly to the intake Schrader valve on the T-piece. A simple battery-powered compressor can be used, but it must have some pressure capacity. Fill up the air struts until the pressure reaches 7-8 bar.
Tesla X and S facelift vehicles from 2016 have a 4mm air hose system, with one exception: the pressure hose from tank to compressor is 6mm. None of these models have a fixed inflation valve. This means that if a tank top-up is desired, a 6mm size T-piece applies. After assembly, the T-piece is permanently installed on the car, so you can fill up with air (possibly nitrogen) if necessary. If, on the other hand, it is the air struts, let's say those at the front, that you want to refill, the 4mm T-piece size applies.
